Colin A Drake founded Drake Trailers in the early 1960's. Since then Drake Trailers have developed heavy-duty low maintenance trailers capable of maximizing payload at a reasonable cost.

At Drake Trailer's quality has always been at the top of our list of goals. We work within the guidelines of ISO 9001 QA (Quality Assurance) system throughout the company.

The Drake Telescopic Steerable trailers feature automatic steering on all axles with a powered steering system to allow manual override when required. The multiple beam telescopic chassis is camber adjustable, operates extremely smoothly and includes air operated lock pins and automatic cable extension.

Drake Trailers is the specialist trailer manufacturer in Australia and has produced many 'firsts' which have revolutionized the transport industry.

In 1969 the Drake 'Swingwing' 100t capacity highway trailer revolutionized heavy haulage in Australia, and even today design refinements place the 'Swingwing' at the top of the tree.

The Drake Steerable Platform Trailers in 6,7,8,10,12 etc. line configurations were first produced in Australia in 1980. These include all the necessary functions including hydraulic steering, gooseneck and draw bar as well as the ability to widen. The range now includes fully modular steerable systems in both fixed width and widening configurations.

Drake Trailers have been building 'Mine Site' trailers since the early '70's and over the past 10 years have designed and built a new generation of 'Mine Site' transporters, capable of loads of up to 400t over rough terrain (these are the 'bullet-proof' variety). These mammoths have a tare weight of 100t approximately and are totally manufactured at our Wacol factory.

The Drake range of Deck Widening, Steering Widener and Full Widening hydraulic trailers (see 3x4 & 4x4) has improved transport and safe loading of earthmoving equipment to such an extent that they are now the industry standard
